Overview
When moving a BlackBerry smartphone user from one Blackberry Enterprise Server to another BlackBerry Enterprise Server sharing the same configuration database, and where the target server is running BlackBerry Enterprise Server for Novell GroupWise 4.0.5, 4.0.6, 4.0.7 or toggling the "Wireless Synchronization" under the calendar options on the BlackBerry smartphone, calendar appointments older than 30 days in the past are duplicated on the BlackBerry smartphone.
Cause
The BlackBerry Enterprise Server sees the calendar entries that are older than 30 days as new appointments even though RefIDs already exist for the appointments in the database. The server assigns a new RefID to the calendar item and synchronizes it to the BlackBerry smartphone.
Resolution
Upgrade to BlackBerry Enterprise Server for Novell GroupWise 4.1.X.
