KB04161 - Error "Invalid properties in MsgSvcTable" or "Invalid properties in message service table" when attempting to Edit MAPI Profile or run the BlackBerry Enterprise Server configuration wizard

Environment

  • BlackBerry® Enterprise Server version 3.6 to 5.0 for Microsoft® Exchange

Overview

When running the BlackBerry Enterprise Server Configuration Wizard, and typing the Server Routing Protocol (SRP) Authentication information, the following error is received:
Invalid properties in MsgSvcTable (00000000)
or
Invalid properties in message service table
This error might also be encountered when the Edit Mapi Profile button is clicked on the BlackBerry Server tab of the BlackBerry Server Configuration tool, or during the BlackBerry Enterprise Server installation when clicking next on the CAL and SRP Information screen.

Cause

This error is due to a corrupted Messaging Application Programming Interface (MAPI) profile located in the registry.

Resolution

Warning: The following procedure involves modifying the computer registry. This can cause substantial damage to the Windows® operating system. Document and back up the existing registry entries prior to implementing any changes.
If the error is received during the BlackBerry Enterprise Server installation, complete the following steps:
  1. In the Registry Editor, go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows Messaging Subsystem\Profiles\BlackBerryServer.
  2. Click the MAPI Profile, then click File > Export Registry File.
  3. Save the MAPI Profile.
  4. Right-click the MAPI Profile and click Delete.
  5. Close the Registry Editor.
  6. Continue with the BlackBerry Enterprise Server installation or create the MAPI profile by following the instructions in KB10285.

Additional Information

This article contains information previously documented in KB11751.
