KB10936 - How to disable Internet Browser on BlackBerry devices
Environment
- BlackBerry® Enterprise Server software version 4.0 and later
- BlackBerry device
- BlackBerry Device Software 4.0 and later
Overview
To disable the Internet Browser on BlackBerry devices, perform the following:
- In the BlackBerry Manager, in the left pane, click BlackBerry Domain.
- On the Global tab, click Edit Properties.
- Click IT Policy.
- In the IT Policy Administration section, double-click IT Policies.
- In the list of policies, click the desired IT policy.
- Click Properties.
- In the left panel, select Browser Policy Group.
- In the right pane, select the Allow IBS Browser rule and set its value to False.
- Click Apply then OK.
Additional Information
The Allow IBS Browser rule specifies whether or not the Internet Browsing Service (IBS) browser icon appears on the BlackBerry device when the service provider provisions the IBS browser with the appropriate service books present.
