Environment
- BlackBerry® Device Software versions 4.0 to 4.7
- BlackBerry® Enterprise Server versions 4.0 and 4.1
- BlackBerry® Mobile Data System (BlackBerry MDS)
- BlackBerry smartphone
Overview
You cannot install BlackBerry® MDS Runtime on the BlackBerry smartphone. An error appears stating that the following dependencies are not available: net.rim.platform.ecmascript
net.rim.blackberry.crypto3
net.rim.blackberry.xml
net.rim.java.docviewer
net.rim.blackberry.api
Cause
The BlackBerry® Browser and the JavaScript® subcomponent have not been installed on the BlackBerry smartphone.
Resolution
Install the BlackBerry Browser and JavaScript subcomponent on the BlackBerry along with BlackBerry MDS Runtime. This may also require the installation of the BlackBerry Device Software on the computer.
The BlackBerry Device Software can be downloaded from your wireless service provider’s web site.
