Environment
- BlackBerry® Enterprise Server versions 4.0 and 4.1
Overview
The following error message is displayed when attempting to validate the Server Routing Protocol (SRP) key within the BlackBerry Server tab of the BlackBerry Server Configuration tool: Invalid SRP KEY or ID
Warning: Error occurred while receiving server ID from Wireless Network

Cause
There are multiple potential causes for this issue.
- The wrong network region was selected when configuring the SRP information.
- A blank character was typed at the beginning or end of the SRP ID or Authentication Key.
- All or some of the characters were typed in capital letters.
Resolution
Complete one or both of the following resolutions.
Cause 1
The wrong network region was selected when configuring the SRP information.
Resolution
- Ensure you are logged in as the BESAdmin service account.
- Stop all BlackBerry Enterprise Server services. Important: Restarting certain BlackBerry Enterprise Server services will delay email message delivery to BlackBerry smartphones. For more information, see KB04789.
- Go to Start > Programs > BlackBerry Enterprise Server > BlackBerry Server Configuration > BlackBerry Router.
- Make sure that you are using the correct region network. If the country or region was incorrect when you installed the BlackBerry Enterprise Server, correct the network region. To find the correct region network, use the SRP Address Lookup tool. Note: If you are not sure how to change the region, contact BlackBerry® Technical Support Services.
- After changing the region, click Apply and then click OK.
- Start the BlackBerry Enterprise Server services.
- Perform the SRP validation process again.
