KB05302 - How to deploy BlackBerry Instant Messaging for IBM Lotus Sametime

  • BlackBerry® Enterprise Server version 4.1 for IBM® Lotus® Domino®
  • BlackBerry® Instant Messaging for IBM® Lotus® Sametime® 3.0 to 8.5

IBM Lotus Sametime software is located in the IM folder on the BlackBerry Enterprise Server software installation compact disk (CD). The following files are included on the CD:
  • Sametime.zip - Used for deployment through a software configuration in BlackBerry Manager
  • SametimeOTA.zip - Used for deployment through a web site accessed by the BlackBerry® Browser or the customized web page loader.asp
  • BlackBerry Enterprise Server software version 4.1 with the BlackBerry Instant Messaging Connector for IBM Lotus Sametime should be installed and configured before deploying the software to BlackBerry smartphones.
  • For deployment using SametimeOTA.zip for wireless download from the BlackBerry Browser, modifications may be needed to the loader.asp file to correct the web hyperlink path of the Java® Application Descriptor (JAD) files. The web server must set the Multipurpose Internet Mail Extensions (MIME) type to text/vnd.sun.j2me.app-descriptor for the JAD files.
