KB17433 - Wireless synchronization does not occur for the Address Book
Environment
- BlackBerry® Enterprise Server version 4.1
- BlackBerry® Storm™ 9500 Series
- Microsoft® Exchange
- Novell® GroupWise®
Overview
A BlackBerry smartphone user reports that their address book did not wirelessly synchronize with their BlackBerry smartphone. Upon an attempt to toggle the wireless synchronization option, it is discovered that the Wireless Synchronization option states Unavailable.
Cause
The service book is outdated and needs to be updated.
Resolution
To update the service books on the BlackBerry smartphone, complete the following steps:
- From the Home screen of the BlackBerry Smartphone go to Options > Advanced Options > Service Book.
- Find the Desktop[SYNC] service book and delete it.
- Resend the service books from the BlackBerry Enterprise Server. For instructions on sending service books, see KB03577.
Note: If the above solution does not regenerate the service book, press the Menu key in the service book window and then select Undelete.
The wireless synchronization option should now be available.
