KB19200 - “The username, password, or domain is not correct. Please correct the entry” error is displayed when trying to log on to BlackBerry Administration Service using Windows Authentication
Environment
- BlackBerry® Enterprise Server version 5.0
Overview
While attempting to log into the BlackBerry Administration Service webconsole, the following error message is displayed: The username, password, or domain is not correct. Please correct the entry.
When viewing the BlackBerry Administration Application Server log, the following log line appears:
(07/29 14:55:40:111):{http-ADMPLS063M.NA.CORP.CARGILL.COM%2F10.2.162.29-443-3} [com.rim.bes.basplugin.activedirectory.ActiveDirectoryManagerBean] [INFO] [ADAU-1000] {u=SystemUser, t=2546} loginAsLdapUser failed to authenticate LDAP user=besadmin, realm=yourdomain.com, kdc=ADMPLS003M.yourdomain.com javax.security.auth.login.LoginException: Pre-authentication information was invalid (24)
Cause
The account's password used for LDAP Login credentials in the BlackBerry Server configuration panel for the Administration Service-LDAP tab is incorrect or has been changed.
Resolution
Type the correct Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) password under the LDAP Login Credentials and then click the Verify button. Make sure MR1 for BlackBerry Enterprise Server 5.0 is applied first or refer to the following Knowledge Base article KB18161 to resolve the plain text issue.
