KB18683 - Map the BlackBerry MDS Connection Service instance to a supported BlackBerry Dispatcher instance

Environment

  • BlackBerry® Enterprise Server version 5.0 for Microsoft® Exchange

Overview

Without a BlackBerry® Mobile Data System (BlackBerry MDS) Connection Service instance mapped to a supported BlackBerry Dispatcher instance, the BlackBerry smartphone users cannot access the Internet through the BlackBerry® Browser.

Cause

A BlacKBerry MDS instance is not mapped to the supported BlackBerry Dispatcher instance causing the service to constantly start and stop.

Resolution

To configure the BlackBerry MDS Connection Service (MDS CS) mapping to the BlackBerry Dispatcher instance, complete the following steps:
  1. Log in to the BlackBerry Administration Service console.
  2. Navigate to the Servers and components section.
  3. Expand BlackBerry Solution topology.
  4. Expand Component view.
  5. Expand MDS Connection Service.
  6. Click on the MDS CS instance listed.
  7. Click the Supported Dispatcher instances tab.
  8. Click Edit instance at the bottom of the screen.
  9. Under Available Dispatcher instances highlight your server name.
  10. Press the Add button.
  11. Click Save all.

Hi,

I've installed MDS Connection service on separate computer. But it's not listing in "Supported BlackBerry Dispatcher instance". Is there any additional configuration required??
