KB18680 - How to configure the BlackBerry MDS Connection Service in BlackBerry Enterprise Server version 5.0 to connect to a proxy server

- BlackBerry® Enterprise Server version 5.0 for Microsoft® Exchange
Overview
To configure proxy settings for the BlackBerry® Mobile Data System (BlackBerry MDS) Connection Service, complete the following steps:
- In the BlackBerry Administration Service, under the Servers and components menu, expand BlackBerry Solution topology > BlackBerry Domain > Component view > MDS Connection Service.
- Click the instance to be changed.
- Click Edit instance.
- On the Proxy mappings tab, in the Universal resource locator field, type the URL regular expression for the web address that the proxy mapping rule will control.
- In the Proxy type drop-down list, perform one of the following actions:
- To configure a proxy server, click PROXY. In the Proxy string field, type the proxy server name and port number using the following format: http://:
- To exclude the web address from routing through the proxy server, click DIRECT.
- Click the Add icon for the proxy item. If adding more than one proxy item, use the Up and Down icons to set the priority for the proxy items.
- Click the Add icon for the web address. If adding more than one web address, use the Up and Down icons to set the priority for the web addresses.
- Click Save all.
Additional Information
To configure a specific URL for an internal site that already has the Catch All proxy URL configuration in place ( http://.* ), place the new URL before the Catch All proxy URL.
