KB17860 - How to enable debug logging for the BlackBerry MDS Integration Service

Environment

  • BlackBerry® Enterprise Server version 4.1.3 and higher
  • BlackBerry® MDS Integration Service

Overview

To see all SOAP (Simple Object Access Protocol) messages between a BlackBerry MDS Integration Service based application and a web-service, enable debug logging for the BlackBerry MDS Integration Service. This information is logged in the BlackBerry MDS Integration Service log file which is found in the same location as all other BlackBerry Enterprise Server logs. MDSS is attached to the log file by default.
To enable debug logging for the BlackBerry MDS Integration Service, complete the following steps:
  1. Click Start>Run, type regedit, and click OK.
  2. Navigate to HKLM\Software\Research In Motion\BlackBerry Enterprise Server\Logging Info\MDS Services.
  3. Change the DebugLogLevel value to 6.
  4. Restart the BlackBerry MDS Integration Service from Windows Services.
