KB18628 - BES fails to process data because it can't reinitialize the Connection Pool
KB18628 - The BlackBerry Enterprise Server fails to process data because it cannot reinitialize the Connection Pool
Environment
- BlackBerry® Enterprise Server versions 4.1 for Novell® GroupWise®
- SDR311372
Overview
The BlackBerry Enterprise Server cannot process email messages or synchronization data because the mailbox agent cannot establish a connection to the database environment. Should there be an issue with the connections within the connection pool, the mailbox agent should be able to release the failed connections and allow them to connect again successfully.
Provided below are the log lines you may see in the MAGT log file:
[MAGT]
[30000] (03/15 21:44:34.364):{0x2080} ConnectionPool::ReInitializePool: Connection Pool is being reinitialized

[40000] (03/15 21:44:38.849):{0x120C} [PMDatabaseSQLImp::PollMbSyncTable] backing off from db access due to connectivity/network problems
[40000] (03/15 21:44:40.848):{0x120C} [PMDatabaseSQLImp::PollMbSyncTable] backing off from db access due to connectivity/network problems
[40000] (03/15 21:44:43.848):{0x120C} [PMDatabaseSQLImp::PollMbSyncTable] backing off from db access due to connectivity/network problems
Cause
The mailbox agent cannot reestablish the connections to the SQL environment.
Resolution
This is a previously reported issue that has been escalated internally to our development team. No resolution time frame is currently available.
Workaround
Restart the BlackBerry Controller. This will restart the BlackBerryAgent.exe process which reestablishes the connection pool.
