KB15691 - BlackBerry MDS IS does not remain started as Local System account

Environment

* BlackBerry® Enterprise Server software version 4.1 Service Pack 5 (4.1.5)
* SDR181166

Problem

BlackBerry® Mobile Data System (BlackBerry MDS) Integration Service does not maintain a Started status when using the Local System account.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, complete the following steps:

Warning: The following procedure involves modifying the computer registry. This can cause substantial damage to the Windows® operating system. Document and back up the registry entries prior to implementing any changes.

1. Create a DatabaseServerMachineName string value with the name of the computer hosting the Microsoft® SQL Server® in the HKU\.DEFAULT\Software\Research In Motion\BlackBerry Enterprise Server\Database\ registry key.
2. When SQL Authentication is used between BlackBerry Enterprise Server and SQL, create Login and Password string values with the account that has access to the database in the HKU\.DEFAULT\Software\Research In Motion\BlackBerry Enterprise Server\Database\ registry key.

Additional Information

Step 2 of the resolution is necessary only when SQL Authentication is being used as a step that is already part of the installation process.
