KB10192 - No Enterprise Activation icon is present on the BlackBerry smartphone
Environment
- BlackBerry® Enterprise Server
- BlackBerry smartphones
Overview
The Enterprise Activation icon does not appear on the Home screen of the BlackBerry smartphone and there is no Enterprise Activation option in the Options menu.
Cause
This issue might be caused by one of the following problems:
- The BlackBerry smartphone does not have the BlackBerry Enterprise Server service class.
- The BlackBerry smartphone is running BlackBerry® Device Software version 3.8 or earlier.
- The Enterprise Activation icon is hidden.
- The BlackBerry smartphone is not registered on the wireless network.
- A previous attempt was made to activate the BlackBerry smartphone over the wireless network.
Resolution
Complete the appropriate resolution for the cause.
Cause 1
The BlackBerry smartphone does not have the BlackBerry Enterprise Server service class.
Resolution
Contact your wireless service provider for further assistance.
Cause 2
The BlackBerry smartphone is running BlackBerry Device Software version 3.8 or earlier.
Resolution
Upgrade to BlackBerry Device Software version 4.0 or later. For instructions, see KB03621.
Cause 3
The Enterprise Activation icon is hidden.
Resolution
Verify that the icon is not hidden on the Home screen by selecting the Show All option from the menu.
Cause 4
The BlackBerry smartphone is not registered on the wireless network.
Resolution
- Perform a hard reset of the BlackBerry smartphone. For instructions, see KB02141.
- Perform a Register Now function. For instructions, see KB00510.
Cause 5
A previous attempt was made to activate the BlackBerry smartphone over the wireless network.
By default, after the BlackBerry smartphone is activated over the wireless network, the Enterprise Activation icon does not appear on the Home screen.
Resolution
Follow the steps below to locate the Enterprise Activation option on a BlackBerry smartphone with valid provisioning.
- Click the Options icon on the Home screen of the BlackBerry smartphone.
- Click Advanced Options.
- Click Enterprise Activation.
