Environment
- BlackBerry® Enterprise Server
- BlackBerry® Mobile Voice System version 4.6
Overview
To switch to a new BlackBerry smartphone with the same phone number, complete the following tasks:
- On the Home screen of your new BlackBerry smartphone, click Options > Status to obtain the personal identification number (PIN). Alternatively, open the Messages application and compose a new email message. Type mypin in the Subject field or in the body of the message and press the Space bar.
- Log in to the BlackBerry MVS web UI using the last five digits of your desk phone extension as your user ID and the default password that was provided to you in your welcome email message. If you have lost your password, click the Forgot PIN link.
- Click your BlackBerry smartphone phone number.
- Click the MVS tab.
- Enter your PIN in the Device PIN field and click Submit.
- On the Home screen of your BlackBerry smartphone, click Options > Advanced Options > Service Book and verify the presence of the Desktop [ASC] service book.
- Contact your BlackBerry MVS administrator when you are ready to install the BlackBerry MVS Client on your new BlackBerry smartphone.
