Default KB04891 - "Invalid ID" error message appears when logging in to Enterprise Messenger

Environment

  • BlackBerry® Enterprise Server version 4.1
  • BlackBerry® Instant Messaging for Microsoft® Office Live Communications Server



Overview

When the BlackBerry smartphone user logs in to the enterprise messenger on the BlackBerry smartphone, an invalid ID error message appears.



Cause

The domain portion of the Windows® account user name is different from the domain portion of the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) Uniform Resource Identifier (URI) sign-in name.



Resolution

When the BlackBerry smartphone user logs in to the enterprise messenger on the BlackBerry smartphone, use the correct domain portion for the SIP URI sign-in name and the Windows account user name. The administrator can provide this information.
