KB17893 - How to audit the administration functions of the BES
Environment
- BlackBerry® Enterprise Server version 4.1
Overview
You can use the BlackBerry Domain Administration History Reporting Tool in the BlackBerry® Enterprise Server Resource Kit to create reports about changes to the ServerConfigHistory table in the BlackBerry Configuration Database.
This will allow you to audit any changes made to the BlackBerry Enterprise Server by administrators.
Resolution
See page 10 of the BlackBerry Enterprise Server Resource Kit - BlackBerry Analysis Monitoring and Troubleshooting Tools - Administration Guide for instructions on running this tool.
Additional Information
Note that for auditing to be effective, each individual administrator should be logged in as his/her own Windows account, or using an individually assigned Database login that has been assigned a Role within Role-based Administration, rather than sharing a single login to administer the server.
