KB16015 - Calendar updates are delayed in arriving to the handheld after being updated in Lotus Notes

Environment

  • BlackBerry® Enterprise Server IBM® Lotus® Domino® version 4.0 and later
  • SDR68366
  • SDR88569

Overview

Calendar updates are delayed in arriving to the BlackBerry smartphone after being updated in IBM® Lotus Notes® and the following message is seen in the BlackBerry Messaging Agent (MAGT) log:
UpdateMessage: opened by UNID, but etpId is wrong!!!
A further search reveals lines similar to the following:
"Mail Server CN=DOMINO1/O=COMPANY failed over to CN=DOMINO2/O=COMPANY"

Cause

The failover of clustered IBM Lotus Domino messaging servers results in the BlackBerry Messaging Agent requesting the Universal Notes Identifier (UNID) of an email message from a user's mail file after that mail file has failed over to another messaging server in a cluster.
The UNID that the messaging server sends back might not be the UNID originally assigned to the message, so the BlackBerry Messaging Agent might send read/unread status updates to the wrong message on the user's BlackBerry smartphone.
