KB15232 - Enterprise activation process stops at 98% and does not complete


Environment

  • BlackBerry® Enterprise Server version 4.1 for IBM® Lotus® Domino®
  • BlackBerry® Enterprise Server version 4.1 for Microsoft® Exchange
  • BlackBerry smartphones



Overview

When activating a BlackBerry smartphone over the wireless network, the enterprise activation process stops at 98% and does not complete.



Cause

The Address Book or MemoPad entries specified for the BlackBerry smartphone user are incorrect.



Resolution

For BlackBerry Enterprise Server for IBM Lotus Domino, enter the correct details for Address Book or MemoPad entries in the organizer data synchronization settings. For instructions, see article KB04323.



Workaround

For BlackBerry Enterprise Server for Microsoft Exchange, work around this issue by completing the following steps:
  1. Delete all data and applications from the BlackBerry smartphone. For instructions, see article KB14058.
  2. Remove the BlackBerry smartphone user account from the BlackBerry Enterprise Server. For instructions, see article KB11638.
  3. Add the BlackBerry smartphone user account back onto the BlackBerry Enterprise Server. For instructions, see article KB11638.
  4. Turn off wireless organizer data synchronization for the BlackBerry smartphone user. For instructions, see article KB04976.
  5. Activate the BlackBerry smartphone user account on the BlackBerry Enterprise Server. For more information, see article KB13850
  6. Turn on wireless organizer data synchronization for the BlackBerry smartphone user account. For instructions, see article KB4976.
