KB14636 - How to block incoming calls on a BlackBerry smartphone
KB14636 - How to block incoming calls on a BlackBerry smartphone
Environment
- BlackBerry® Device Software version 4.3 to 4.7
- BlackBerry® Enterprise Server version 4.1 SP6 for Microsoft® Exchange
Overview
The following explains how create an IT policy to block incoming calls to a BlackBerry smartphone.
Resolution
To block incoming calls to a BlackBerry smartphone, create a new IT Policy and then edit the Firewall policy group:
- Select Restrict Incoming Cellular Calls.
- Enter the number you want to block.
For example:
+1##########r;
An r and a semicolon must occur at the end of the phone number, or the IT policy will allow the phone number listed and block the rest of the phone numbers from calling.
Additional Information
If you are unable to block incoming calls from a phone number using IT Policy, request that your wireless service provider block incoming calls from the phone number.
