Environment
- BlackBerry® device
- BlackBerry® Enterprise Server software version 4.0
- IBM® Lotus® Domino® 6.0 through 6.0.3 and 6.5 through 6.5.3
Overview
The status of messages on the BlackBerry device changes from opened to unopened.
Cause
The BlackBerry Enterprise Server scans the Unread table of a BlackBerry device user's mail files to identify message status as opened or unopened.
Prior to IBM Lotus Domino 6.0.4 and 6.5.4, the Unread table, stored in the BlackBerry device user mail files, was not replicated to other IBM Lotus Domino messaging and collaboration servers within the cluster. The IBM Lotus Domino clustered environment is not set up to replicate unread marks by default.
When the mail file is part of an IBM Lotus Domino clustered environment, messages previously marked as opened on the BlackBerry device appear as unopened after a messaging server failover.
Resolution
Search the IBM Support & downloads web site for reference number 1140018 for more information on the enhanced unread functionality introduced in IBM Lotus Domino 6.0.3 and 6.5.
To enable replication of the unread marks between the clustered mail files follow the instructions in reference number 1140018.
