KB18148 - ARCHIVED - Unable to open attachments on the BlackBerry device

Overview
When trying to open an attachment on the BlackBerry device you see the error, "attachment size exceeds server value".
Cause
The BlackBerry Attachment service running on the device has malfunctioned.
Resolution
Reinstall the BlackBerry Attachment service with the BlackBerry Desktop Software.
To reinstall the BlackBerry Attachment Service, perform the following steps:
- Connect the BlackBerry smartphone to the computer.
- In BlackBerry Desktop Manager, double-click Application Loader. The Application Loader Wizard is prompted.
- Click Next.
- If prompted for a password, type the password.
- On the Device Application Selection screen, uncheck the BlackBerry Attachment Service option.
- Click Next.
- Click Finish.
- Once the device reboots, in BlackBerry Desktop Manager, double-click Application Loader. The Application Loader Wizard is prompted.
- Click Next.
- If prompted for a password, type the password.
- On the Device Application Selection screen, select the BlackBerry Attachment Service option.
- Click Next.
- Click Finish.
