KB02960 - Transaction error messages

Environment

  • BlackBerry® Enterprise Server
  • BlackBerry smartphones
  • IBM® Lotus® Domino®
  • Microsoft® Exchange
  • Novell® GroupWise®



Overview

An X appears beside an email message sent from a BlackBerry smartphone operating on a GPRS network. The Message Status field contains a transmission error to identify the problem.


The following table lists transmission errors, descriptions of the problem, and possible resolutions:


Transmission error Description

Could not receive message from service.

The BlackBerry smartphone encryption key is different from the encryption key on the computer.

Generate a new encryption key. For more information, see KB02740.

Could not receive More - original message was deleted.

The BlackBerry smartphone does not receive more content of an email message if the original email message was deleted, moved, or modified in the inbox.

Verify that Inbox rules do not filter incoming email messages.

Decryption failure - please connect your handheld to your computer.

The BlackBerry smartphone encryption key is different from the encryption key on the computer.

Generate a new encryption key. For more information, see KB02740.

Desktop couldn't find the original message.

OR

Mailbox couldn't find original message.

The BlackBerry smartphone does not forward, reply to, or request to see more of an email message if the original email message was deleted, moved, or modified in the inbox.

Delivery to service not confirmed.

The email message was not delivered.


Resend the email message.

Encryption failure - please connect your handheld to your computer.

The BlackBerry smartphone encryption key is different from the encryption key on the computer.

Generate a new encryption key. For more information, see KB02740.

Failed to contact service.

The wireless network did not acknowledge the email message.

Resend the email message.

Failed to send message.

The BlackBerry Enterprise Server received the email message, but could not send the email message to the recipients.

Resend the email message.

General message error.

A problem occurred while sending the email message.

Rend the email message, or perform a hard reset. For more information, see KB02141.

General send failure - please try again.

The email message could not be sent.

Complete one of the following tasks:

  1. Resend the email message.
  2. Save the email message and reset the BlackBerry smartphone.
  3. Register the BlackBerry smartphone with the wireless network.

General transaction failure.

The email message could not be sent.

Resend the email message, or perform a hard reset on the BlackBerry smartphone. For more information, see KB02141.


Invalid routing - please connect your handheld to your desktop.

If the email system is configured incorrectly, verify that the mailbox is on a Microsoft Exchange Server or an IBM Lotus Domino Server.

If the connection between the BlackBerry smartphone and the computer is not working properly, reconnect the BlackBerry smartphone to the computer.

Message canceled.

The email message is canceled before it is sent.

Resend the email message.

Message could not be sent.

There is a problem sending the email message.

Resend the email message.

Message included an invalid address.

One of the email addresses of an intended recipient is incorrect.


Message refused - please try again later.

There is a temporary problem transmitting the email message.

Resend the email message.

Please connect your handheld to your computer.

The BlackBerry smartphone encryption key is different from the encryption key on the computer.

Generate a new encryption key. For more information, see KB02740.

Please repeat your last More request.

The BlackBerry smartphone received more content of an email message, but the BlackBerry smartphone cannot save the additional information in the associated email message because there is insufficient memory.

Refused by service.

The connection to the wireless network refused the email message.

Resend the email message.

Redirector transaction failure.

This error message appears when the BlackBerry Desktop Redirector is temporarily unable to function in a Microsoft Exchange environment. This may be caused by a problem with the wireless network.

Resend the email message.

Registration request failed - please try again.

An attempt to register with the wireless network has failed.

Complete the following steps to register the BlackBerry smartphone manually.


  1. Click Options > Advanced Options.
  2. Click Host Routing Table.
  3. Display the menu.
  4. Click Register Now.


Request failed - please try again.

A request associated with a previously received email message is sent from the BlackBerry smartphone. However, the request failed due to a temporary error on the wireless network.

Resend the request.

Request for More failed.

The BlackBerry smartphone does not receive more content of an email message if the original email message is deleted, moved, or modified in the Inbox.

Send canceled by transport.

The send process was canceled before it was completed.

Resend the email message.

Sending failed (please resend later and watch for error messages).

There is a network registration problem, or there is a connection failure between the BlackBerry smartphone and the computer.

Resend the email message.

Service Disabled.

The ability to send and receive email messages is disabled.

Connect the BlackBerry smartphone to the computer.

Temporary network problem - please resend later.

The wireless network is temporarily busy.

Resend the email message later.

Temporary service problem - please resend later.

There is a temporary wireless network problem.

Resend the email message.

Timeout - message not delivered.

The email message could not be sent to its destination within the set time frame.

Resend the email message.

Transaction error - general failure.

A general error transmitting the email message occurred.

Register the BlackBerry smartphone with the wireless network.

Transaction error - timeout.

A temporary problem connecting to the BlackBerry Enterprise Server is preventing the email message from being sent.

Transaction error - unknown command.


There is an error with the BlackBerry smartphone wireless transceiver.

Register the BlackBerry smartphone with the wireless network.

Unable to compress/encrypt message.

The BlackBerry smartphone cannot send the email message because the email message could not be properly encrypted.

Generate a new encryption key. For more information, see KB02740.


Unable to find specified service.

The service is not available.

Connect the BlackBerry smartphone to the computer to receive the correct service information.

Unlisted message error.

There is a problem sending the email message.

Resend the email message.

Unlisted send error.

A problem sending the email message has occurred.

Resend the email message.

Unlisted transaction error.

A problem sending the email message has occurred.

Resend the email message, or perform a hard reset. For more information, see KB02141.

Unknown error.

This error message may appear when an encryption key is manually generated.

Complete one of the following steps:

  1. In BlackBerry Manager, open Redirector Settings. On the Advanced tab, verify that the email address specified is correct.
  2. Verify that the BlackBerry smartphone is registered on the network.
  3. Generate a new encryption key. For more information, see KB02740.
