KB16352 - Message Confirmation Service fails to start with error 1069
Environment
- BlackBerry® Enterprise Server version 4.1 SP3
- BlackBerry® Enterprise Server Resource Kit version 4.1 SP3
Overview
The following message error appears when attempting to start the Message Receipt Confirmation Tool service from the Services window:
Error 1069: The service did not start due to logon failure.
Cause
This issue can occur if the service is configured to use a domain account account instead of the local system account.
Resolution
To resolve this issue, ensure that the local system account is being used:
- Under the Computer Management console tree, open the Services and Applications node.
- Open Services, and then click the Message Receipt Confirmation service.
- Right-click the service, and then click Properties to open the properties of the service.
- Click the Log on tab and ensure that the local system account is selected.
