KB15671 - Unable to add a new BlackBerry Enterprise Server to the BlackBerry Monitoring Service
Environment
- BlackBerry® Enterprise Server
Overview
When attempting to add a newly installed BlackBerry Enterprise Server to the BlackBerry Monitoring Service, the following error message is displayed:
SNMP Agent is not responding. Please ensure it is started as per the specified configuration. Also ensure that the host machine is alive.
Cause
On a new BlackBerry Enterprise Server with no BlackBerry smartphone users, the Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) connectivity test will fail.
Resolution
Add at least one BlackBerry smartphone user to the new BlackBerry Enterprise Server and then attempt to add the BlackBerry Enterprise Server to the BlackBerry Monitoring Service.
