KB14334 - BlackBerry Enterprise Server SNMP traps do not match the traps by BES Agent
KB14334 - BlackBerry Enterprise Server SNMP traps do not match the traps by the BlackBerry Enterprise Server SNMP agent
Environment
- BlackBerry® Enterprise Server versions 4.0 and 4.1
- SDR90238
Overview
The BlackBerry Enterprise Server Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) traps Object Identifiers (OIDs) defined in the Management Information Base (MIB) file are not matching the actual traps OIDs generated by the BlackBerry Enterprise Server SNMP agent.
In the MIB file, the following is shown: besTrapVariables OBJECT IDENTIFIER ::= {BlackBerryServer 9}
This indicates that traps should be generated under 1.3.6.1.4.1.3530.5.9. In the BlackBerry Enterprise Server SNMP agent, the traps OIDs are defined as follows: -UINT MIB_BES_Trap_SRP_Connection[] = { 1, 3, 6, 1, 4, 1, RIM_SNMP_ID, BES_TRAPS_SNMP_ID, SPEC_TRAP_BES_SRP_CONNECTED, 0 };
This indicates that traps are generated under 1.3.6.1.4.1.3530.9.
Resolution
This is a previously reported issue that has been escalated internally to our development team. No resolution time frame is currently available.
