KB10134 - When upgrading BlackBerry Enterprise Server software with a service pack the following error message is received "Incompatible version detected on the system, the setup program will now end"
Environment
- BlackBerry® Enterprise Server version 4.0 and 4.1
Overview
When using a BlackBerry Enterprise Server software pack to upgrade the BlackBerry Enterprise Server software, the following error message is received: Incompatible version detected on the system, the setup program will now end.
Cause
The BlackBerry Enterprise Server administrator is attempting to upgrade the BlackBerry Enterprise Server software from software version 4.0 to 4.1 using a service pack instead of using the full installation files.
Resolution
Download the proper installation files for BlackBerry Enterprise Server version 4.1.
