KB11384 - How to change the location of the BlackBerry Enterprise Server logs
Environment
- BlackBerry® Enterprise Server version 4.0 to 5.0
Overview
To change the location of the BlackBerry Enterprise Server log files, complete the following steps:
For BlackBerry Enterprise Server 4.0 and 4.1:
- Browse to Start > Programs > BlackBerry Enterprise Server > BlackBerry Server Configuration.
- Click the Logging tab.
- Click Browse.
- Browse to the location on a local hard disk drive where you want to store the log files.
- Click OK.
- Restart the BlackBerry Enterprise Server services.
Important: Restarting certain BlackBerry Enterprise Server services will delay email message delivery to BlackBerry smartphones. For more information, see KB04789.
For BlackBerry Enterprise Server 5.0 :
- Log in to the BlackBerry Administration Service console.
- Under Servers and components, select BlackBerry Solution Topology.
- Expand BlackBerry Domain.
- Expand Component view.
- Click on Logging.
- Choose a BlackBerry server.
- Click Edit Instance.
- Modify the Log file path to the desired location.
- Click Save all.
- Restart the BlackBerry Enterprise Server services.
Important: Restarting certain BlackBerry Enterprise Server services will delay email message delivery to BlackBerry smartphones. For more information, see article KB04789.
Additional Information
For BlackBerry Enterprise Server version 4.1, if logging is enabled for PIN messages and SMS messages, the new location will have to be specified.
Note: For more information on enabling logging for PIN messages and SMS messages, see KB05024.
After changing the Audit Root Directory, restart the BlackBerry Synchronization Service.
