KB01539 - How to enable auto blind carbon copy
KB01539 - How to enable auto blind carbon copy
Environment
- BlackBerry smartphone
- BlackBerry® Enterprise Server software versions 2.2 - 4.1
Overview
When the Auto blind carbon copy (BCC) feature is enabled on the BlackBerry Enterprise Server, all messages sent from BlackBerry smartphones are blind carbon copied to a specified email address. Be advised the sender will be able to see the specified BCC address(es) in their sent items folder.
You can configure multiple mailboxes or email addresses to receive the blind carbon copies of the messages. These settings apply to all BlackBerry smartphone users on the specified BlackBerry Enterprise Server instance.
BlackBerry Enterprise Server software version 2.2
In BlackBerry Manager, complete the following steps:
- Connect to the BlackBerry Enterprise Server instance on which you want to enable Auto BCC.
- Click Auto BCC. The Auto BCC dialog box opens.
- To add a BCC recipient from the Address Book, click Address Book, select the recipient, and click OK. The recipient's name appears in the Auto BCC email addresses list.
- To add a BCC recipient by specifying an email address, click Add. In the Email Address field, type the email address, then click OK. The email address appears in the Auto BCC email addresses list. Warning: It is important to verify the validity of the email address because the BlackBerry Enterprise Server does not attempt to resolve it to a valid contact or address. An invalid address may result in BlackBerry smartphone users receiving undeliverable message responses, which could alert them to the BCC setting.
- When you finish adding BCC recipients, click OK.
BlackBerry Enterprise Server software version 4.0
In BlackBerry Manager, complete the following steps:
- In Explorer View, go to the BlackBerry Enterprise Server domain; select the BlackBerry Enterprise Server for which you would like to enable this feature.
- Click Edit Properties.
- In the Messaging section, click Auto BCC Address. You can type the email address, or use the Import List function to select a contact from your IBM® Lotus® Domino® domain.
- Close BlackBerry Manager.
