KB17831 - "Uncaught Exception: java.lang.IllegalArgumentException" on the BlackBerry smartphone

- BlackBerry® Enterprise Server

Overview
When the BlackBerry smartphone user tries to security wipe the BlackBerry smarthpone, or types in the password incorrectly, the following error message appears:
Uncaught exception: java.lang.IllegalArgumentException
Cause
An IT policy was applied that specifies the Allow Third Party Apps to Use Persistent Store rule is set to False.
Resolution
This is a previously reported issue that has been escalated internally to our development team. No resolution time frame is currently available.
Workaround
Set the Allow Third Party Apps to Use Persistent Store rule to True.
