KB11260 - How to seamlessly move BlackBerry smartphone users from one BlackBerry Enterprise Server to another
Environment
- BlackBerry® Enterprise Server version 4.0 to 4.1
Overview
A seamless move of BlackBerry smartphone users from one BlackBerry Enterprise Server to another can be performed only if the two BlackBerry Enterprise Servers share the same BlackBerry Configuration Database.
To move BlackBerry smartphone users sharing the same BlackBerry Configuration Database from one BlackBerry Enterprise Server to another, complete the following steps:
- From the Users or All Users tab, select the BlackBerry smartphone users to be moved.
- In the Account tasks list, click Move User.
- In the Select Server dialog box, select the BlackBerry Enterprise Server to move the selected BlackBerry smartphone users to, and click OK.
Additional Information
If the two BlackBerry Enterprise Servers do not share the the same BlackBerry Configuration Database, a move of BlackBerry smartphone users from one server to another will require the following steps:
- Remove the BlackBerry smartphone users from the BlackBerry Enterprise Server they are assigned to. For instructions, see article KB11638.
- Perform a security wipe of the BlackBerry smartphone user's BlackBerry smartphone. For instructions, see article KB02318.
- Add the BlackBerry smartphone users to the intended BlackBerry Enterprise Server. For instructions, see article KB11638.
- Assign the BlackBerry smartphones to the BlackBerry smartphone users. For instructions, see article KB03910.
