KB18337 - Page cannot be displayed and BAS will not stay started due to underscore
KB18337 - Page cannot be displayed and BlackBerry Administration Service will not stay started due to an underscore in the pool name
Environment
- BlackBerry® Enterprise Server version 5.0
- BlackBerry Administration Service
- SDR338367
- SDR339322
Overview
When experiencing this issue the BlackBerry Administration Service - Application Server will not stay started within Windows® services and you are unable to log on to the BlackBerry Administration Service web console.
Cause
This issue is caused by an underscore in the fully qualified domain name (FQDN) that the BlackBerry Administration Service uses. When this issue occurs the following log line(s) display in the BBAS-AS log:
{main} [org.jboss.system.ServiceController] [WARN] Problem creating service jboss.remoting:type=Connector,transport=socket3843,handler=ejb3
java.lang.NullPointerException
at org.jboss.remoting.InvokerLocator.resolveHost(InvokerLocator.java:333)
at org.jboss.remoting.InvokerLocator.URIParse(InvokerLocator.java:257)
at org.jboss.remoting.InvokerLocator.parse(InvokerLocator.java:213)
Resolution
This is a previously reported issue that has been escalated internally to our development team. No resolution time frame is currently available.
