KB12888 - Make BlackBerry Web Desktop Manager available to BlackBerry users
KB12888 - How to make BlackBerry Web Desktop Manager available to BlackBerry smartphone users
Environment
- BlackBerry® Enterprise Server
- BlackBerry® Web Desktop Manager
Overview
After the installation and customization of the BlackBerry Enterprise Server Administration Tools and Services, complete the following steps to make the BlackBerry Web Desktop Manager available to BlackBerry smartphone users: - Distribute credentials to BlackBerry smartphone users.
Note: To log in to BlackBerry Web Desktop Manager, BlackBerry smartphone users must use the credentials from the messaging environment. The BlackBerry smartphone user must also have a BlackBerry account located on the BlackBerry Enterprise Server. The BlackBerry smartphones do not need to be activated to make a successful connection.
Additional Note: BlackBerry Web Desktop Manager does not have support for users in a resource forest with disabled active directory accounts linked to Exchange mailboxes at this time.
- Distribute the BlackBerry Web Desktop Manager web page address to BlackBerry smartphone users.
Without customization, the form for the web page address is:
https://<Net bios name of the computer where Web Desktop Manager is Installed>/webdesktop/login
With customization, the form for the web page address is:
https://<Net bios name of the computer where Web Desktop Manager is Installed>/webdesktop/
app?page=Login&service=page&orgId=0
Note: BlackBerry smartphone users must add the BlackBerry Web Desktop Manager web page address to the list of trusted sites for their browser.
