KB17655 - How to upgrade BlackBerry Device Communication Components when upgrading BlackBerry Web Desktop Manager
Environment
- BlackBerry® Enterprise Server software version 5.0
Overview
When upgrading BlackBerry® Web Desktop Manager, BlackBerry Device Communication Components must also be upgraded to facilitate proper communication with the upgraded BlackBerry Web Desktop Manager and BlackBerry Administration Service.
When accessing BlackBerry Web Desktop Manager or BlackBerry Administration Service from a computer that has the old version of BlackBerry Device Communication Components installed, an automated installer removes the old version of the software and installs the new version of the software. Screen shots are shown below.

When this process completes, the BlackBerry Device Communication Components are upgraded.
