KB17245 - IT policy changes not applied to user accounts after upgrading to BES 5.0
KB17245 - IT policy changes not applied to user accounts immediately after upgrading to BlackBerry Enterprise Server software version 5.0
Environment
- BlackBerry® Enterprise Server software version 5.0
Overview
With the introduction of BlackBerry Enterprise Server software version 5.0, a method of managing IT policies, application deployment, application control policies, and wireless BlackBerry® Device Software updates was implemented to control how these tasks are performed and how much load they generate on a messaging server.
In previous versions of BlackBerry Enterprise Server software, if a change was made to an IT policy and then the change was reversed, this would generate twice the load on the messaging server since both the information about the change and about the reversal was delivered. In BlackBerry Enterprise Server software version 5.0, the default delay of 15 minutes allows for a reversal of a change to be detected and taken into consideration when preparing to run an IT policy management task.
Note: Administrative IT commands, such as Set Password, Lock Handheld, Kill Device, and Set Owner Info, are all still delivered to the BlackBerry smartphone immediately.
Additional Information
For more information on configuring job scheduling settings, refer to the BlackBerry Enterprise Server Administration Guide.
