KB15767 - Upgrade from BlackBerry Professional Software to BlackBerry Enterprise Server
Environment
- BlackBerry® Enterprise Server software versions 4.1 SP5 (4.1.5) and SP6 (4.1.6)
- BlackBerry® Professional Software version 4.1 SP4 or later
Overview
To perform an in-place upgrade from BlackBerry Professional Software version 4.1.4 or later to the BlackBerry Enterprise Server software version 4.1.5 or 4.1.6, complete the following steps:
- Contact a BlackBerry Technical Support representative or your preferred reseller to purchase an unlock key. Note: The unlock key is also referred to as trade-up key when upgrading to BlackBerry Enterprise Server software version 4.1.6.
- Download the BlackBerry Enterprise Server software version 4.1 SP5 or SP6 from here.
- Run the installer on the computer hosting the BlackBerry Professional Software.
- When prompted, in the Unlock Key field, type the unlock license key (see screenshot below).
- Click OK.
The service pack installation upgrades the BlackBerry Professional Software to the BlackBerry Enterprise Server.
