Overview
The following table describes the status messages that might appear when comparing the BlackBerry® Device Software to the third-party applications installed on a BlackBerry smartphone using the Handheld Configuration Tool (BlackBerry Enterprise Server software version 4.0) or the BlackBerry Manager (BlackBerry Enterprise Server software version 4.1).
| Status | Message | Description | | Configuration Status | OK | Sufficient information was received to report on the BlackBerry Device Software and third-party applications in the System Status and Application Status fields | | Check Required | Changes were detected and the BlackBerry Policy Service runs the check process to determine the issue | | Unknown configuration | The BlackBerry smartphone user does not have a software configuration
| | Invalid configuration | The BlackBerry smartphone user's software configuration is invalid | | Handheld state unknown / Device State Unknown | Information about BlackBerry Device Software and third-party applications is not available | | Handheld state invalid / Device State Invalid | Information reported by the BlackBerry smartphone is inconsistent with the BlackBerry Device Software and third-party applications | | System Status | Up to date | BlackBerry Device Software is correct according to the BlackBerry smartphone user's software configuration | | Upgrade Required | BlackBerry Device Software needs to be upgraded according to the BlackBerry smartphone user's software configuration | | Downgrade Required | BlackBerry Device Software needs to be downgraded according to BlackBerry smartphone user's software configuration | | Install Required | BlackBerry Device Software needs to be installed on the BlackBerry smartphone | | Conflict | BlackBerry Device Software is inconsistent with the BlackBerry smartphone user's software configuration | | Application Status | Up to date | Third-party applications are correct according to the BlackBerry smartphone user's software configuration | | Upgrade Required | At least one third-party application needs to be upgraded according to the BlackBerry smartphone user's software configuration | | Downgrade Required | At least one third-party application needs to be downgraded according to the BlackBerry smartphone user's software configuration | | Install Required | At least one third-party application needs to be installed according to the BlackBerry smartphone user's software configuration | | Conflict | Third-party applications are inconsistent with the BlackBerry smartphone user's software configuration |
