KB12027 - Turn off the camera on supported BlackBerry smartphones


Environment

  • BlackBerry® Device Software 4.2. and later
  • BlackBerry® Enterprise Server software version 4.1 for IBM® Lotus® Domino®
  • BlackBerry® Enterprise Server software version 4.1 for Microsoft® Exchange



Overview

To use an IT policy to turn off the camera on supported BlackBerry smartphones, complete the following steps:
  1. Open the BlackBerry Manager.
  2. Select BlackBerry Domain.
  3. Select the Global tab, and then click Edit Properties.
  4. Click IT Policy.
  5. Under IT Policy Administration, double-click IT Policies.
  6. Select an IT policy, and then click Properties.
  7. Select Camera Policy Group.
  8. Set the Disable Camera option to the desired value.
Note: The default value of the Disable Camera option is False.
