Default Battery Drain BB 8703e

New to BES...

BES version 4.1.4.17 in an Exchange 2007 enviroment.

BB 8703e on Verizon Wireless.

Seems to be sending and recieving data constantly, usually drains the battery in 6-8 hours.

Have removed applications such as Facebook and Viigo, thinking that they might not like the BES enviroment, but that did not help.

I have 5 other BB users to add to the server, but do not want to until I can figure this part out.

Where do I look to stop it

I've never seen a device having worse battery life on a BES than not on a BES ...

That said, 8703e's are older devices ... how long have these devices been in use? Batteries lose staying power as they get older. If the device is constantly sending / receiving data is it syncing server data?

Before the device was on the BES what was battery life?

What is the handheld OS version?

I could go 2 days without charging, I can look at the unit and see the arrows so that tells me that it is communicating with something...

Thought of the battery, but like I said, before it went 1-2 days without charging, now it is 6-8 hours.

How can I tell if it is syncing server data? That is why I was thinking there is a setting that may want to change.. I have about 765 entries in my address book..

let me add one thing to this, when this data exchange is going on, if I attempt to send a message from the BB, it does not send it- I get the "clock" as the message is pending transmission.. It eventually goes.

If the device is busy any send attempts will be queued until it has free resources to process it. This is normal for busy device operations.

When you activated the device did it fully complete the enterprise activation and slow sync process?
