Very nice post, licensing can be a bit confusing for persons not familiar with this model.

Two tiny additions which might be of use:

If SRP-key is locked this might be due to
- network problems (5 in 1 rule - 5 connection attempts within 1 minute)
- second server going online with key already in use
(-> Server Configuration Tool/BB tab >> Validate SRP Key and ID)
In this case correct the issue and contact your support partner or RIM asap to have the key unlocked (usually high priority ticket).

When upgrading from SBE to Enterprise Edition one might encounter an incompatability error after entering the new license. This is because the old license key still exists in the BESMgmt db/registry and might be updated manually instead of installing the BES anew.
